A few from Inch and Fahan

I was out playing with my new Tokina 12-24 lens and 40d. Whilst my skill at composing and taking a shot may leave a lot to be desired I love the new lens and camera :)

    1. From the Inch Island causeway

    2. From Fahan beach at sunset

    Nice work K.

The first is strongest here, especially with the rainbow.

In the last you have the horizon slightly tilted down to the right. Exposue throughout is good, nice set

I love the flare you are getting with the Tokina. I think the first has the best compostion of the three, and the rainbow really adds to the shot, unfortunately with the rainbow came the rain and as such we lost alot of the reflection, although you’ve managed to keep it better than I did.

I would take the bottom inch of the bottom of the second, but overall I think the composition in the third one is better, the ripple in the waves adds to the shot.

Nice set, you will have some serious fun with this lens.

Thanks for the replies. The shots actually look a lot darker than when I processed them… must be the way I reduced and saved them for the web.

Evan – I take your point with the last shot but the horizon is actually straight. In the larger version you can see the separation between the beach headland and the hills in the back. In the smaller version that I have posted you lose this completely which results in your observation. You can see what I mean better in the second image. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
