580 EXII Flash on a 50D.

Can anyone tell me if possible is 1/250 of a second the fastest shutter speed you can sync with a 50D? Or is there a function on the flash that will give me a faster shutter speed.Thank’s. :)

Yep .. the the 580exII has a HSS(high speed sync) option which should be capable of 1/600th ish …
I think you press and hold the zoom button on the back of the flash to activate?
