An old district in Hong Kong
-
BookwormParticipant
I walked around with my elder brother in an old district in Hong Kong called “Sheung Wan” to take photos today.
Welcome any comment :)MartinOCParticipantInteresting photos, I especially like the ones with people in them going about their daily business. These create more atmosphere.
Hong Kong seems to be so full of interesting places, I was there on holiday recently, I’m sure I’ll be back soon.
If I was to pick a favourite it might be the Taxi + Wing Po.. sign, with the bamboo scaffolding, (although it doesn’t have any person in it)
Next would be the last one, the painting shop.Martin
Liam2673ParticipantThis is a really great series…..really enjoyed looking at these, well done.
I’d agree with Martin, the Wing Po shot is very impressive. The shot confuses me a little, Is the pavement elevated? it looks like two photos sewn together.
I also like the first three, probably the second one stands out, colour of the teeshirts looks very well, its a small but important feature of the shot.
The only ones I wouldn’t fancy are the two of the railings.
Am surprised this series hasn’t received more commentary.
jb7ParticipantYes, great set, lovely textures everywhere-
all interesting, and perhaps because the ordinaryness is so extraordinary from this perspective-One question though, is the greenish cast intentional?

5faytheParticipantHi Bookworm,
I have looked at these a few times and there is much to view.
Sometime it takes a while for all the images to download.
Oh the joys of our broadband system. :)They are a most interesting set of images and as has been said
enjoyable viewing.Sometimes I think a little text can help me to enjoy images like
this even more but even without text they are very good.John.
BookwormParticipantHappy to have your comments~
Martin, welcome to HK again for the next time you visit there~ in fact, I will go to Dublin in early Aug as I have joined a one-year Ireland Working Holiday Visa~ Maybe we could take photos together later~
Liam2673, the pavement of the Wing Po shot is really elevated as there is a staircase in the middle.
jb7, the greenish cast is intentional. In fact, that was bit sunny day and the orginal photos are quite warm style. I tuned into a bit “lomo” style for matching the old buildings feeling. Happy that you like it.
John, I put too much photos in one post this time and yes, I should write a little text for that…Between, I am really happy for joining this forum as I receive you all wholehearted comments everytime I post my photos here~
Liam2673ParticipantHi Bookworm
Do you have any photos from ‘mainland’ China, from Shenzen or Guangzhou for example? Would be delighted to see them.
Also if you have any others from Hong Kong. I was there a few years ago, its an interesting city, very busy.
