Camera repair advice and Sagemax

    Hi all

I dropped my Nikon D40 recently, damaging the pop-up flash. It still works, but the plastic housing is cracked and the parabolic reflector is badly dented. The good news is that at the time of purchase, I opted to buy a 2-year Sagemax service contract which covers accidental damage (and which is still valid).
Having successfully called “collect” to their offices in the U.S., they advised me to have the repair done locally, and that they would reimburse me after I e-mail them a scanned copy of the repair receipt. They said I could get the repair done wherever I wished (not necessarily a Nikon-approved centre).

    Two questions then:

    1) Has anybody had more experience than me with Sagemax?
    2) Where should I get the repair done?

(I have already gotten similar quotations for the repair from the SLR Service Centre, Rathmoylan and Photographic Repair Services, Portobello.)

    Thanks a million

Well if you got quotes from one of the Irish Nikon service centres and if Sagemax (never heard of them tbh) will pay the cost
then why not just get a service centre to do the repair ?

I’m sure that all the ones you listed will do a good job.
