Fireworks / Hanabi

In Japan, at this time of summer, many fireworks festivals are held.
Many people, male and female, dress in ‘summer kimonos’ called yukata, and have picnics while watching.
This one lasted over an hour.Fireworks = Hanabi ( 花火 ) which could be translated as Flowers of Fire.

I love the translation, flowers of fire, so elegant.
The first picture does indeed look like a flower of fire.
No. 4&6 are great, absolutely love the colour and atmosphere. Kinda retro.Lovely.

The colour itself comes from the film, it seems to colour shift in very low light.Martin

I went out with an intention to get a Japanese couple in their traditional gear, and I got the fireworks in too, so #2 is my fav too.Martin

Great colours in these, and lots of atmousphere…Yes, good story-
that first one is spectacular, dandelion of fire…Looks like there’s lots in them, larger, maybe?

Here are two larger, but the it was handheld at f1.2 so won’t be overly sharp. My purpose in going there was more to shoot the festival than the fireworks, so I was handheld, but the area was very dark to get people shots.
