    Johnny –
The maximum clip size is 4GB due to filesystem limitations. That equates to 12 minutes at full HD (1920×1080) resolution or 24 minutes at 640×480.

While shooting video, you can take a still at any time, which will be a full-resolution 21mp image. On the video it will appear as a still frame, but be recorded as a separate file as well. If you want to make a still from the video itself, you can do that depending on your playback or editing software. The maximum resolution will be the resolution of the format you recorded in (either 1920×1080 or 640×480), and it’ll be heavily compressed (think low quality JPG). Still, fine for web use.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers,
    Peter

You’ll want to make sure it has the latest firmware which permits manual control over shutter speed, aperture and ISO while in video mode.

    Cheers,
    Peter
