    Hi Sinead,

Lovely photos that really capture the “happy moments” on a wedding day. I think they’re well composed and captured. I really like the b/w conversion (5th image a bit burnt in places on my screen) but the final image doesn’t have the beautiful contrasts that the others have.

I’d be very happy if I captured these images.

    Regards,

    Very nice set Sinead.

I really like the depth of the 1st one. Got the bride, the groom, the groomsmen, then a little flower girl and far back I think we see the mother of the bride maybe? Personally I think portrait orientation would have suited the shot better thought. With an attempt to get the whole arch and a full lenght of the bride.

Thanks all for the comments, much appreciated.

This was the first wedding I’ve shot, I think I might have been more nervous than the bride!!
I got some little proof prints yesterday, thankfully most of them are not burnt or blown too much,
a little bit here and there, but not so much it spoils the print.

I know a little bit more about metering and exposure than I did when I shot these.

Their brief was pretty simple, relaxed happy pictures, not too formal or too posed, and Mariead
really wanted a picture of herself in her dress with the white cowboy boots, which were a present
    from her friends.

I’ve been playing around with some little story board things lately, I might make one of the boots
for her. I’ll post it when I do.

The first picture was just before she went into the church, I like it too, for the reasons you mentioned
Eric, that is her mum, and her brothers, I’m just a tad annoyed I didn’t take a moment to compose it better,
that’s her sister behind her… Your idea would have been great.

Like I said, I was very nervous, so much so, I completely ruined the shots of her getting out of the car,
I’d taken a few shots inside the church just before she arrived, when I went outside, I didn’t remember
to change the settings, all the shots of her getting out of the car and coming up the steps were blown out
    way beyond rescue.

Big learning curve. I had help on the day, and I’m so glad I did, as she was excellent, couldn’t have done it without her.

    Thanks again all.

These are terrific Sinead, really well done. You’ve certainly captured
a great atmosphere of fun on the day with this little collection…

If I had to choose a favourite it would be the second; excellent placing
of your subjects within the photographic frame. I’d be very happy if that
was one of mine, and I’ll bet the bride loves it, particularly as she’s the
    one in sharp focus…

First wedding? You’d hardly think it. Well done…

Thank you very much Rob. Very kind comments.
I collect the prints on Monday, all of a sudden I’m a bag of nerves again!

So, this is the little story board of the boots.
Hope to get this printed up and framed for them as a present.

Sorry for not embedding, but I didn’t want to post it on flickr and I couldn’t upload to the gallery here. Edit: sorted!

    Nice work.
The storyboard is class – is exactly what it says on the tin!
If one picture is worth a 1,000 words …
