camera & lens combination

    Hi All,
I have my first wedding to shoot in a couple of weeks time (as a favor for a friend) and I’m confused about what kit to use.
    I have a Canon 5d mk2, a Canon 400d, Canon 70-200 f2.8 is usm & a Canon 24-105 f4 is usm.

What lens and camera combinations do you think would work best?

I was thinking of keeping the 70-200 on my 5D but that would reduce my wide angle of the 24-105 on my 400d giving me 38-168mm. The other combination would give me a better range but maybe a softer image overall on the 70-200 lens due to the crop factor.

I could just swap lenses on the 5D but would prefer to have a simple switch of camera if I can.

Have any of you had the same dilemma? What are your thoughts?

The other combination would give me a better range but maybe a softer image overall on the 70-200 lens due to the crop factor.

Why? My understanding was that the best part of the glass was the centre so if you’re using a crop sensor this would be utilising this element of the glass giving you an overall better chance of a good image throughout the apertures? Anyone?

Keeping it simple, you could do the whole thing with the 24-105 on the 5D…

    Hi Grant

There is a beginners wedding course if you are thinking of going any further with photography. I just signed up this morning myself.
