I really like the composition, colours and lighting in this one. Nice warm feeling from it
jessthespringerParticipantHey Shar…
Where the hell have you been?! Nice to see you back.I like this, good exposure and nice colour.
Sinead
DenverDollParticipantHi there~
Hi miki!
Appreciate your comments :D I was hesitant to post this. I just didnt feel comfortable with this photo..and now that you say the words….I realize why. It is a warm sort of shot and it has just been so hot here in Colorado that I just could not warm up to it (figuratively.) I was wondering what..if anything at all….someone would say…that would help me understand my own problem with this photo…thank you! It IS warm~and I am craving cool.Hello Sinead~
Thank you too! I just havent done any photography in ages and really missing it. Think I will have my act together by about October to make it over for a weekend of snapping if you wanna start planning! (and thanks for the welcome..I do feel like a newbie.)jessthespringerParticipantShar – It may be the white balance setting? I know you don’t use PS or anything but it is possible to change it in the camera. If you shoot RAW files.
I just leave my WB set to auto, then if I don’t like it I can change it later.October… Great!! Bring your Holgas :D
jb7ParticipantHello DenverDoll, welcome to the forum-
Not sure if this is still life, as such, but I like it-
I like the wide open blurriness of it-
Is this a standard lens?joseph
DenverDollParticipantThank you for the welcome joseph….may I call you joseph?
I tussled with the still life issue too. Might be an everything else. Certainly not a purist’s still life.
I think it was the good old dependable 50mm 1.8

jb7ParticipantOf course you may Sharon-
or wise ass, dumb ass, or whatever takes your fancy.Categorizing- Interiors? Lifestyle? Travel?
There aren’t any hard and fast rules,
and just because I might not think it’s a still life doesn’t mean a thing.As I’m sure you’re well aware…
MartinOCParticipantWelcome back Sharon,
and what a way to come back. Really love the shot.
Indeed it seems more of a warm cosy winter shot.Martin
DenverDollParticipantThank you Martin!
So glad you like it. I am starting to like it better myself now that it is raining here :Dand Sinead~
Good thought! I havent checked the white balance settings in ages….time to go in and check all my settings on the dslr probably! I have become such a fairly settingless person recently :lol:RobMemberWelcome to the forums Sinead… ;)
Lovely picture there to start you off too. I hope you’re going
to sign up for the next print exchange, whatever it is…DenverDollParticipantThanks Rod!
It is nice to be here. Deja vu or something~
Really am looking forward to the next print exchange….count me in!
b318ispParticipantLovely shot, great composition and fabulous colours. My only critique is that it seems to lack of any focal point. Perhaps if the immediate rack to the right was in focus it might be better; that said, to me a key part of the is shot is the colour and geometry – so my critique is only a minor one.
DenverDollParticipantHey thanks for that!
A point well taken. It is very easy to drift around this shot and never focus..unless you are like me and always try to read those labels
Appreciate the comments b318isp~~
When I get my sharpening tool back I wil revisit this picture. I seem to find more to like about it the more I read peoples comments about it. To begin I was very dissatisfied with it, but knew it had some promise.
Thanks again
MartinParticipantWelcome back Doll
Nice shot. Dark but like the vibrant colours of the back lit bottles
All the best hope your well
