Waterfalls in Macro

Left my 60mm macro lens on when I stumbled across a profusion of water surfacing from the Burren stones to form a lovely waterfall. Think I’ll do more of this:

I think these kind of shots need, perhaps, more thinking out – more so than other water type shots. The first is missing a main point of interest, my eye is looking around for someting to settle on. The second is much more interesting, and I can see that you are thinking about depth of field and focus point, but again it is missing that one element that says what the picture is about.

I think you are absolutely right to try these kind of shots, but I’d suggest considering what you want the shot to convey to others and simplify the composition around this.

Point well made, maybe this one fits the bill better?

Very unusual, a great spot and well taken! Only thought is to keep it simple – decide the one thing that is important, sometimes less is more!
