I just got these prices what do you think
Canon40D with 17-85is lens 900euro
Camera body on its own 500Hi Eric,
Is this new or used gear?
As has been said the body only price seems very good
especially if it is new.I’d be tempted myself at €500.00. :)
Is it local?The difference between the 2 seems big. :?

No these are second hand prices albeit in very good condition.I got a price of 1100 euro for a new canon40D and Canon 17-85is lens.
McSweeneys in Cork are the sellers.The price for both is very high, the bodies seem to be shifting for about £450 second hand these days, so with the current Euro rate, this is still a pretty good buy, depending on number of accutations and condition of camera.
If you were in the market for one, I would jump at this. Its a great camera, just love mine.
€500 is a good price for the 40D body.
€1100 on the other hand is outrageous for a 40D and 17-85 and from McSweeneys I could not expect anything else. That my op pinion as I have had dealing with them when i started off, and was ripped off
Plenty of 40D ‘s on the for sale section here the past couple of weeks and was lower than €1100, why not put a post in the wanted section and see if anyone is upgrading??
Better dealing with members of PI than any shop in my opinion
I think I will go for the body as it is as good a deal as iv seen,
What lens is best to start off with,is it the 17-85is,this seems to be an alrounder.
