    Hiya guys,

my boyfriend and me were in Germany the last week to visit my family after 6 months again. I took some nice pictures at the Baltic Sea and in Berlin. Have a look and tell me what you think! :) I know some of them are not straight like so I have to rotate them when I get the chance but apart from that Id like to get your opinion! :)

Nice ideas captured here Janine, but I think there are lots of opportunities to make them more interesting:

1: There is a lot of empty space here. By shooting lower and waiting for the ship to come closer you could have filled the image much more
2: Looks like an interesting tower, but it is very hard to see the top of it, get its context or judge scale. Stepping back to get a more straight on view and iclude some foreground elements would help greatly.
3: Interesting shot, arguably the best of what you have presented. The branches frame the grasses really well. The bottom 25% doesn’t add much to the shot, but it could easily be cropped out. Try a square format – to me it helps emphasise the grasses.
4: OK, it’s interesting to see the mouth open, but you can’t see inside, you can’t really see the face and you’re shooting into the sun causing exposure problems.
5: Nice shot, just seems hazy around the head, perhaps due to a smudge on the lens?

Unfortunately there’s a bit more to it than that

Well I am still a beginner like so I dont exactly what way I need to take photos. I dont have time for a photo course unfortunately cuz I am doing loads of stuff during the week already and I wanna have comfy evenings sometime as well so I dont know how I will learn it.

You don’t necessarily have to do a course. I have never done any photography course and anything I’ve learned was from the internet, books, and photography magazines. All you need then is patience and lots and lots of time!!

    Hi Janine
    Got to agree with Brian
These are good subjects, but just need to think a little bit more about why you want the shot and plan it a bit more. Good CC by B3 to tell you what to look for next time you go shooting.

Number 4 face on would have been a great shot.

Most peeps on here have not taken any courses, its just practice and getting out. Keep it up as you are on the right track
    Dee
