Enlarging digital images

    Hi guys

I want to get some of my images enlarged and I’m not sure how far I can push it before I get pixl8shun? So I was thinking I could enlarge a section of detail in PS and print that to 6be4 to see how the detail faired.

Has anyone experience of trying this or are there other means of figuring out what is going to work. Particularly where the original image may have already had a crop applied.

    Thanks

    Sean

    Hi John,

thanks for the quick reply, I have seen Steve’s card before, it seems quite handy although once you know one or two its basic(-ish) maths to figure out the rest

I haven’t covered digital imaging by mathematical formulae yet, so this is a bit gobbledeygook at the moment. I think I’m just gonna have to start doing some research to learn this, cos I know what I’m after I just don’t know how to express it

    Cheers

    Hi Sean,

This page might flesh things out a little.

Can’t do any harm anyway. :)

As a rule I would suggest that most peoples eyesight is in capable of distinguishing prints from an Epson printer printed at 120dpi or higher. Come to the Photovision show and I’ll show you samples.
