Took these whilst heading up to Gunnes for some supplies on Tuesday.

Martin gave me a few Holga tips the day we were out and the results have improved a bit from earlier (un-posted) efforts.

    Hey John,

Good set you got there. Nice sweet spot where its sharp in each.

#1, 3 + 4, I particularily like. The toning is the job on the 2nd one.. very nice
We’ll have to get Martin to post up his tips :)

    Thanks M n A.

Some tips I got from Martin (hope he doesn’t mind):

    * Always wait for the light to hit the subject as the Holga doesn’t operate that well in shady/dark scenes

    * Tape up the B/N button below the lens, that way you don’t end up shooting in Bulb mode half the time like I had been

    * Get in the habit of always rolling on the film after each frame, otherwise you forget and end up with either double exposures or skipped frames

    * What you see through the viewfinder only represents a portion of the centre of the negative that will be produced. You can add only something like another 50% to all 4 sides

Small & simple things these… but useful to know.

well those kind of tips are always useful to know…
I really like #3 of this batch, I think the subject really suits the Holga.
BTW how did you add the sepia-toning?

    Thanks peoples.

Dave – I just added a bit of sepia with Photoshop. I noticed Martin & Eddie do this so decided to give it a try.
