I don’t know with this one. i can’t seem to get it right. Probably a fine exsample of over processing, but maybe the photo wasn’t good to begin with.
Feel free to burn it down.

Other than the clouds being too black, I think this works.

    It’s a little over processed I think.

The clouds are too dark (although it is Ireland so you might get away with it :))

Compositionally it’s nice and a little lighter on processing could be much nicer

    Hi Peter,

I think I know how you feel. :?

As has been said I think the composition is quite good.
    The scene looks nice.

Somehow it looks a little severe to my eye.

Maybe a revisit from scratch but I know I can get fed up
looking at a photograph after a while.

I wouldn’t burn it but maybe come back to it later. :)

    Cheers.

    John.

Did you post this some time back? I can’t make my mind up if it’s too contrasty, too saturated or over sharpened, but I like it anyway! The white areas in the clouds look a bit burnt out I think. If you could bring them back a bit, maybe a bit of copy and paste on a new layer and reduce the opacity of the pasted in portion? Then look at it in Mono and see what it’s like. Or do nothing and come back to it in a month or so. Sometimes that helps!
I like Dolmens, no dolmen shot is bad!

I think the sky is too bright behind the top left of the dolmen, which is also quite bright.

I love the subject. The processing I don’t like, but yet I’ve seen stuff like this used successfully in advertising before. Maybe start from scratch with the original file and see if you can recover it rather than doing more processing on this version.

I like it other than the burnt sky.

NFL posted a great tutorial on processing pics with two different treatments – once for the foreground and then for the sky – that migt help. Had a quick look for it, but couldn’t find it …

    Hi P,

Very dramatic sky, but A bit strong for my liking TBH.

The composition is really nice, was there many tourists there
    when you shot this?

Have a look at Nossie’s thread on working with layers (It is excellent), it could really help this one I think.
