    Flattered, I am.

This looks a beauty to me. I really like the grainy b+w, it could
be a film photo. The bars of the gates are very dark – I expect
a clever photoshopper like you could lighten them a bit.

It would make a good shot for a caption competition too.

    Ross – you’re a ticket !

I think I’d crop a bit off the top that (for me) you don’t need .. I’m interested in very strong BW conversions at the moment and (assuming you have details in the very light and dark areas- My work PC is poo for brightness) I like this one alot – especially the deep tones around the floor.

In terms of the narrative – I love the wooly sheep checking out the proceeding over yer man’s shoulder :) and it always amazes me how chilled out the sheep being sheared is ! If you have more of these it might make a lovely documentary panel ?

Hmmmm, only 2 takers. I’m disappointed, but not giving up. Yet. At least they got the order right. Who will be last?

Expert feedback indeed. Not sure I’m qualified for that Ross. :o

I do like it though, great environmental portrait, that guys back must be killing him at the end of the day.
Really nice contrast and tones and I like the little bit of vignetting too.

I like the Sheep in the background too and how the mans hair looks a little wooly.

I agree with Lorraine, good material for a panel.

Have I seen this here before? In the documentary section? In a different format?

Well spotted Sinead – I’d forgotten about a similar image I posted in the documentary section. It only got 1 response. This one must be 3 times better on a pro rata basis.
    3 down………..and counting………… :D

incorrect Ross, I was being honest, I genuinely don’t consider myself an expert on offering photographic critique.
Thankfully you seem to be the only one on the site insistant on securing expert critique, otherwise I’d have to
    quit the site :)

Smashing tones, sharpness, exposure and just an all round excellent capture. Some of the blacks are a little blocked up, which may hurt you if you’re going to print this big. Wonderful shot.
