Buying a 5D mark I

    Hi,

Just looking for some advice. I’ll be upgrading soon from my lowly 450D. I would love the 5D Mark II of course but the Mark I and some good glass might make better sense.

Just wondering what to look for if I decide to get the Mark I, in terms of shutter actuations, wear and tear etc. And of course where to find one, how much to spend etc. I’m thinking I might get the Mark II or something newer down the road, and the Mark I would be a good back up.

    Any advice appreciated, thanks.

5Ds have a reputation for the mirror falling off — Canon may fix it.

And a reputation for collecting dust.

‘ 5Ds have a reputation for the mirror falling off’- really?
about 1 in 10,000 did it.
5d is all the camera you’ll ever need-truely stunning, it’ll take a few months to get used to it and once you do it’ll make a 500d/50d seem like a point and shoot.
    go for it

I’m kinda leaning towards the Mark II now. Even though I saw the 7D at photovision and was starting to wonder…..

But I think It’ll have to be full frame for me.
