I know there’s a lot wrong with this, the framing, the harsh light, etc. but to be honest I was happy just to get any shot. It walked out in front of me, very close, and I got spotted as I framed up. Reckon I’ve got this guy/gal before as well as I was in the same spot where I saw it a few months ago.
As you said the harsh light and the framing may not help, but you did well under the circumstances. They don’t tend to hang around too long to pose for the camera.
This is great, you certainly got close. He certainly looks like a fine healthy fox. I’d love to get a shot like this, my one and only was a young one from a distance a few months ago. Maybe you should keep an eye on the spot early some morning for a few hours and he or she might return and give you a better opportunity.
I like this. There’s something going on with the grass in the background circling the fox’s head and drawing attention to it. I know you probably didn’t go and arrange the grass in this fashion while the fox waited but it works for me!
Brilliant shot all things considering. My parents in law have a family of foxes that come into their back garden every couple of summers, mommy and babies. Yet we have never managed to get any decent shots of them from the top of the garden, so well done!!
