Hi people .. was in Bray for the weekend and got over to Glendalough there on Saturday and Sunday morning… I see that Mikka already posted some cool ariel type pics – wish I had more time on Sunday to get back up there.. i climbed and walked around the white route on Saturday – went up the steps first – newbie here so did not know better :D – but it was kinda cool… the view was amazing from the top but the weather was terrible.. I am jealous of you Mikka and the weather you got today ;)
Sharon took this shot last week.. as have many before me … but I am sure I wont be the last to take it either .. esp when the weather is nice and clear up there .. like this morning
C&C welcome
This last one is from an early morning shot taken along the headland from Bray to Greystones!MadeleineCalaidoWeberParticipantno 2 and no3 are the best out of the bunch.
I guess that no 2 is a hdr. if so, the cyan is usually mad and the colours are oversaturated. i would relax the blue a bit, the detail in the left corner works well. it is all about tuning down to become a more natural looking image
No 3 is no hdr?? but i would try to get some more details in the left corners without using hdr. It looks more natural and the composition is very beautiful.
You were blessed with this moment of silence. ( :i just checked out your website – you have some very nice norhernlight images.
Cheers
Madeleinejohnson76ParticipantThanks Madeleine
Number 2 is a 2 shot pano HDR…. tho like you said the cyans are a little oversaturated.. when I went back and tried to get the same effect without the HDR there was too much detail lost in the left hand side of the print – and there was not a big time difference between shots.Morning was lovely and I literally just drove up to the car park this time as I was in a bit of a hurry to be someplace else.. tho after the weather on Saturday I had to go back and see it ;)
Number 3 is a standard one shot image – using ND grad filter…. and some tweaking in Lightroom afterwards… will take it into photoshop and see bout getting some more detail out of it now
Thanks for the comments re the Northern Lights – we were very lucky to get any shots at all really… worth the visit tho now
If I had only know or your little trick that you posted the other night re Scarriff Islands and the beach photography.. would have saved me loads of time – great shots too

sharonlMemberWell done Kev, lovely shots. No. 2 and 3 are great. Its a beautiful spot at that time in the morning. Not sure theres much you can do about that dark area in the left, maybe as was suggested before, a trip up there around mid summer when the sun is in a slightly different position would help.

TinyMemberGreats shots there Kev, the third lake shot being my favorite, though i do like the Bray Head shot.

BMParticipantI like no. 2 – even with the cyan cast (although Madeleine’s observations are based on more experience than me).
I’m sure there’s advice here (PI) somewhere on fixing the dark left hand side of number 3. Regardless, I like the mood and tranquillity. Well done.
Number 1 is also a good image, but the boulder is maybe a bit too dominant for such a beautiful setting.
