Male Bushbuck – we’re spotted
Zebra – sees something else and poses for me nicely

Young Male lion – more looking at me than on the lookout but thought i would throw it in here
Lioness watching over the cubsNice series there all right. The lion staring straight down the lens is great, very intense with those tiny pupils. Only thing I’d criticise is maybe the zebra shot, might have looked better in portrait orientation with the legs included and the other zebra’s bum left out :lol:
The lion staring into your lens is amazing. I take it you didn’t use a 50MM for that shot? :D
What setup did you use?
They are all great, and I particularly like the staring lion. How would it look to crop the lion, showing only the face? Maybe it would look even more intense?

proach – i was using a 500mm ith 1.4x attached.. shooting from the top of the jeep we were in – early morning when we spotted this pride and they came right up and across the road in front of us – and stopped as you see here – so we were very lucky.. ;)
Faye – never thought about cropping the lioness just in around the head … there is no cropping done yet on it so will experiment and see how it turns out ..thanks for the input again
