Another HDR attempt, this one I took into Photoshop after Photomatix,
there was an awful blue caste to it, again this was three shots -1 to +1 and
it was extremely shady in this particular area.miki gParticipantLovely scene and very natural looking. I tried for something similiar today but not HDR. They were very contrasty.
shutterbugParticipantThanks again Miki :) I am starting to think that HDR is the way
to go with very contrasty scenes, I will keep at the processing to
try to improve on that.SodafarlMemberJenny,
Lovely picture I don’t normally like HDR but this is very natural looking. Well done.Soda
shutterbugParticipantossie13ParticipantJenny great to see a HDR that isn’t over cooked…..like the composition and nice autumn colours!!
Steve
shutterbugParticipantThanks very much Steve, my purpose of the day was to find autumn
colours! Seems to be a fine line between finding autumn leaves on the
trees and on the floor :)Gary McParlandParticipantYou cant tell it is HDR which is good, as others have said, very natural. Well done :)
Gary
Mr.HParticipantThe image works well… and as has been said is nicely cooked! It would be good to see the correctly exposed original here Jenny… just to get a feel for the extra dynamic range or detail in the HDR.
Gary
shutterbugParticipantThanks to the two Garys :) As requested here is the middle shot of the
original, extremely dark and with the blue caste.SolusMembershutterbugParticipantNo Solus, its Kilmacurragh Arboretum in Rathdrum, an old country house
now a ruin, but the grounds are something special, the Botanical Gardens
took it over and have been restoring it, gradually bringing it back to life with
a huge replanting programme. A lovely place for a wander.SolusMemberThanks Jenny, just wondered because there’s a very similar arch in the grounds of Clonegal castle also.
Nice image btw.Mr.HParticipantThanks for posting the original Jenny… so this HDR thing makes a real difference then!

Doesn’t it just! I am thinking the blue caste came from the yew trees they have a funny bluey green colour
to them, it is only when I see the HDR and the original together that I realise what a difference it does make.I did minimal tone mapping, just very slight adjustments which I think is the secret to not overdoing it, though I
do like the surreal effect you can get also, suits some shots. Thanks for all the interest :)
