do you understand the bird language?
-
randomwayMemberjb7Participant
I guess you haven’t had your camera fixed then…
I like these ones, more than the film strip ones-
These work well as a trio,
but I think you’ve put the strongest one in the middle-Hope you’ve got some supervision when you’re using those scissors…
Eggs, you forgot the eggs-
randomwayMemberthe men in the white coats took my scossors away yesterday, i did these with me teeth. i told them that i can understand the bird language and the penguins told me to go travel…
… there is a bit of shamanistic symbolism in these, i was wondering if you would notice.
my smena is working well, i just didn;t know that you have to press and turn the shutter release before you could rewind the film.
nfl-fanParticipantThe trio of symbols look good Zoltan… there’s a sorta Aztec feel to them.
All the bits on top and around them… no idea how they fit into the equation… only you can tell us that.

i can’t. it was the birds that told me to do it.
they live in the light you know?
nfl-fanParticipantI told you to stop drying out that bird poop and putting it in your cigars.

#3 er…coathanger.no offence, but you have to have your head looked at. that’s clearly a penguin
PixelleMemberjessthespringerParticipantIt looks as if you are doing something slightly different in your process Zoltan? I really like the shadowy areas. Nice symbolism too.
randomwayMemberYep, I started lifting the main parts (the birds in this case) off the paper and place stuff under them to give it a 3d quality, plus a second shadow appears on the paper. I am also playing with putting the paper in the dev tray and expose “under water”. I tried making a comet on the picture in the middle by dipping a transparent stone into developer and dragging it on the paper, then waited a few seconds… stuff like that. It’s all just fun.
Thanks for your comments.
Oh, and Pixelle, it’s all the picture of one bird, and he told me that he was a penguin… I thought it was obvious ;)
bingbongbiddleyParticipantThese are very interesting. I’d like them with just the birds and without all the extra crap – the grass seeds, muslin etc. (I’m guessing at what it actually is).
This causes a little too much clutter for me.
Your attempt at the comet is good and is wortrh revisiting. Looks like you need more time creating the trail.
randomwayMemberI did a clean version first, but I wasn’t happy with them. If I would change anything, I think, I would tidy up the third one a bit… but I’m not a perfectionist. Thanks for your thoughts, I will certainly try and keep my love for the grass and the art separate in the future.
