Harry LimeParticipant
Probably the smallest lad on the field scored a great header for Askeaton.
flynnyParticipant5faytheParticipantI have to agree with Paul concerning the timing and
the sharpness.I did find myself wishing that the goal had been in shot but
I know how difficult a shot this good is to achieve and my
wish is in no way meant as a criticism of your shot.Well done.
John.
Harry LimeParticipantThanks a mill lads.
Yeah, a goalpost or desperate leap from the ‘keeper would have added context; you can’t have everything I suppose!
paulParticipantI’ll be a little cruel here, but say that the photo does nothing for me.
Yes, it’s in focus and sharp. Good shutter speed and DOF.
But, without your comment/story, it’s lacking context. No sign of other players or even the goals in your shot.
Yeah, it’s never easy getting the shot, and everything needed in the sceen, but that’s the job of the photographer.
For timing, if you had taken the image a split second sooner, the ball on his head or just leaving might have worked better, or also a slightly slower shutter speed showing the ball moving might have worked too.
It’s never ever easy to get that right shot.
Just my opinion though, and feel free to ignore what I’ve said.
kensutzParticipantAgree with what Paul said. Also a straightening of the fence in the background would have helped. I find it distracting.
Harry LimeParticipantThanks Paul & Ken. Food for thought.
The previous shot in the sequence is only ok; he has his head down and eyes closed – not really a keeper. The look on his face here makes it better in any case.
I may have been too close on this occasion I think I was on the edge of the small square. That’s how it goes I guess, if I was on the other side he would have had his back to me.
Thanks again for the comments lads. Always worth posting here for critique.
