MartinParticipant
Didn’t make it in for the PI lofi day but did get out in the late afternoon for a few hours before sundown to take a few shots for World Toy Camera Day.
Concentrated on the Pheonix Park, Botanic Gardens and Glasnevin/Prospect Cemetery.
Theres more on my flickr account if you want to see them…
Will use some of these for my Dublin Holga project also I reckon…
Thanks for looking

thedarkroomParticipantLovely set of photos Martin. Nice tonal range, composition etc etc . . the usual superlatives. Like this set apart from no. 2 which is a bit too busy compared to the rest of them.
Which Holga was used for these and when you scanned the negs did you do any processing on the files. The depth of field and lens coverage works really well. I’m curious as to whether or not you manipulated the blurring to change the depth of filed in some of them or is this a characteristic of the camera. It definitely works a treat.David
MartinParticipantThanks Dave,
Yea no 2 is very busy was thinking that… The two people in the distance are too far away, if they were closer it would have worked better i think, was toooo slow spotting the shot i think
Which Holga was used for these
Used just the standard Holga 120N
when you scanned the negs did you do any processing on the files
Yes, pushed the contrast in curves and then added the tone via curves. Sometimes I burn the corners in a bit also. Some of these are straight scans though…. I generally dont do much processing, around 20 seconds so that I can mimic the look fairly closely in the darkroom when making prints
The depth of field and lens coverage works really well
All Holgas are different. Mine has a very big sharp sweet spot in the middle and has a large DOF of around F13 I reckon
I’m curious as to whether or not you manipulated the blurring to change the depth of filed in some of them or is this a characteristic of the camera.
Only just increased contrast, all blurring and dof’s are characteristics of the Holga
Thanks for looking Dave
MaoluainParticipant2, 6 & 10 from ANOTHER great set.
Martin I’m getting an image of you just snapping
around effortlessly and coming out with these
great collections of images.Lovely.
jessthespringerParticipantI really like no 2… Thought it stood out, maybe because it’s exactly right for this time of year. Or something.
The rest are great too. You can’t resist the cemeteries :wink:miki gParticipantjb7Participantgreat stuff-
the Victorian Aztec Pyramid is still my favourite-I like the chimneys too, and the glasshouse-
that lens does almost cover, I’m very impressed by it-
The crucifix with the creeper is great too-Great stuff-
davedunneParticipantAlan RossiterParticipantYou seem to have the bestest worst Holga lens around these parts. The fall-off from sharp to soft really suits the subject. No faves just like them all.
Alan
MartinOCParticipantVery good. For me the first one is outstanding, and I really like the last 3 too.
Martin
DeeboParticipantCracking set Mark.
Hard to pick a fave but I do like the bench for the deep shadows case and no 10
Well done
Deenfl-fanParticipantThey’re not bad Martin… but they’re not as good as mine. You’ve a lot to learn. Gimme a shout someday and I’ll give you a few tips.

As for you, thanks for the encouragement, it means allot. No not as good as your shots but after all you are such an inspiration to me and us all. I will surly give you a shout to learn a few tips. Just to be in your company would be great, some of that greatness might rub off on me
