Howdy all,
I’m looking to buy a few print boxes for the Camera Club … the black resin ones for storing and transporting 20 x 16in mounted shots.
I got a quote fom a place in England, but the cost of shipping is very high …
does anyone know of Irish suppliers?
thanks in advance
Phil
stcstcMemberthere isnt any suppliers as far as i know over here
there are a couple of places in the uk
dragan cases, who i guess is where you got the expensive shipping from
also i belive silverprint sell them, and think their shipping prices are a little better
PippateeMembershutterbugParticipantI dont know if this is any help, or depending on how many prints you need to
store/transport but a large zip up portfolio case available from art suppliers
you can get all sizes and they are not expensive, alternatively what about a
hard bodied suitcase?markst33ParticipantI don’t know if this interests you but its good value.
stcstcMemberthe kind of thing i guess philip is looking for is more like this
http://www.dragoncases.co.uk/photo_cases.htm
portfolio cases dont tend to work in a club environment where you maybe have 100 prints to lug around
markst33ParticipantSeems kinda strange that no one in Ireland is doing them. Could they be made handy enough by getting your hands on those boxes that you make up yourself that moving firms give you ?
stcstcMemberthe nice thing about those dragon ones is they have expandable straps etc so they can expand the depth of the box etc
they are a polyprop type material that is die cut and riveted. its a machine job, not something to be made by hand really
philip gimmie a shout i may order some too, then we maybe be able to share the shipping etc
PippateeMemberThanks all,
as Steve said, it’s the hard polypropylene ones that I’m after, we regularly have 80-100 prints to be transported and these are the most secure type …
Stee,
I’ve sent a request for a quote to Dragon … I’ll let you know how I get on,
phil
EddieParticipantA few of your members might also like to get some portfolio boxes for their own prints, a bigger order might reduce the postal charges. We did this in Clondalkin a few years back.

I’ll do a check Eddie, thanks for the idea …
