Not sure if this is the right forum but I was in Columbus Nebraska USA for a week a while ago with work and as much as I tried the place is just boring!!! tried my best to look for a good photo but could only get this. It was a window of a comic shop with the opposite side of the street reflected through the posters in the window. C&C welcome.

    Hi Sharon,

Pity you found the place so boring.

I’m not too sure about this image either.
I’ve looked at it a few times but I think it is just
a little confusing as to what it is about.

Sorry I couldn’t be more positive about it.

    Cheers.

    John.

    hi Sharon,

What a pity you didn’t turn around and photograph the buildings which

are in the reflected window there.

Remember that there can be great interest in picturing ‘boring’ places.

Just google ‘Stephen Shore’ and have a look at his portfolio Uncommon Places.

or look at this example of his work:

You might change your mind about hick mid west towns after it.

They are cool for being uncool,

if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the feedback all :) I have been to other parts of Nebraska before and saw a few photo opportunities but unfortunately didn’t have my camera at the time. I brought it this time hoping to get some interesting mid western hick town photos like in the link you posted saoirse but unfortunately just couldn’t get my head into it. Ah well, I’m sure I’ll be going back again at some stage and may be better prepared to ‘see’ some shots. I think I’ll put this trip down as not very productive and get some ideas for next time.
