    Marty,

I have just tried processing some headshots myself and find it really difficult to strike a balance. For me though these are too over processed for my liking.
The skin does not look natural and is very porcelain looking – this is particularly evident in the arms in the first one. You definitely get away with it more in the desaturted image (#5).

Some nice shots there, but yeah… perhaps a tad over processed.
If you look at the hand in the first one, the fingers seem to fuse together.

Number 4 works best for me and seems the least processed. Lovely warmth to it.

    Hi Marty,

To answer your question I do think the processing makes the subject look a little odd.

The photos look good to me.
I like the close up composition and the subjects engagement with the camera.

I suppose it depends on what you were trying to achieve and there’s no harm in experimenting.

    Cheers.

    Marty,
Have to agree I think they are over cooked a bit. I really like the portraits particularly 2 and 4 any chance of seeing them all again without the processing. She is a very pretty girl, with lovely eyes I personally don’t tink she needs much work done to bring it all out.

Know nothing about portraits by the way.

Agree with chaps above, i think the subject and images do not need this amount of processing. They all looks stroing and normal workflow would be great
That said, i really like three – the eyes are great

The eyes almost “jump out” of these shots. They look lovely and sharp, but maybe a bit too sharp for my taste because of the skin smoothing. Less processing would definitely better. Lovely model
