Glashedy Cow

Mark NParticipant
I was taking photos of the island and saw this cow.
All comments welcome.

MartinOCParticipantThere is so much to love about this shot… the sky and its layers, actually all the layering works well.
And the way the foreground pops out, as if the sea and sky were a painted backdrop.
The cow adds a sense of seaside indolence.
If I was to nit-pick I do wonder if separating the island an cow would have been good, island more to the centre, if it was possible.
But in any case, this is very cool.
This shot has a different look to most of the seascapes I’ve seen on PI.Martin
miki gParticipantI like the way the water is being blown by the wind in this and how relaxed the cow looks. As martinOC said, it has a lovely layered effect to it too. The blue haze on the island could have probably been removed by using a UV filter, but I find it adds to the sense of distance in this shot. You were lucky to get a moment with no rain and some blue sky. Well done
richiehatchMemberLovely shot…. Great timing with the wave crashing just at the right spot too..! I think it could also work as a pano with the top bit of the sky cut slightly and maybe even some of the grass…?????

DonaghParticipantMark NParticipantThanks for the comments everyone.
Martin, I see your point about having the island more in the centre. It would have improved the composition.
Miki, the island is very hazy. I think I did use a UV filter and tried to bring out more detail in Lightroom but it started to get too noisy.
Richie, I tried the pano and think it also works.
Donagh, thanks for commenting.

5faytheParticipantHi Mark,
This is a very nice shot in my opinion.
It was already interesting as a landscape/seascape shot and the cow adds
something different to the image. The cow looks so content and peaceful and the sea looks a little angry.
Well done.
John.
markst33ParticipantGreat capture. I like both the original and the pano. Its a well captured unique image. Very interesting and eyecatching. I feel a caption competition coming on !!! :D
Mark NParticipantThanks for commenting John & Mark. It’s always good to get a bit of feedback.
