  Thats a nice image and very good composition. I think a quick warm up filter would enhance this and maybe a quick dodge in and around the bottom RHS to life the brick work

  Hi Kristina. As many times as I’ve tried to get a good shot of this castle & bridge, I never seem to get it right. Usually I’m taking it from the tourist office area and it seems lost in the scene as I try to fit in the whole bridge and usually end up with the river being the dominant feature. I think judging from your shot, this is where I’m going wrong. Getting in closer definitely seems to work better as you have achieved a nice balance between the water and the castle. I like the choppy water, as it shows the changable weather conditions with the almost clear blue sky. The angle of the clouds and the flags also give the feeling of blustery conditions. I think it just needs to be brightened up slightly though and I find my eye drawn to the minibus. Otherwise it’s a lovely shot.

  thanks miki g…it makes me really happy that you like the shot… i took it last friday, the sky was nice and blue so I thought it would be shame not to take out the camera. Especially with this kind of weather that we have at the moment… I will try to brighten it ( so tricky to get it right on the laptop screen) and I will get rid of the minibus cause it annoys me too :)

  Hi Kristina,

  This is a fine photograph.

  The cloud formation looks very unusual, to me anyway.
  It does give a feeling of windy conditions.

  Like many photos it would have benifitted from better light but you can
  only work with what you had and you did well.

  The processing suggestions could well be worth a try.

  Excellent work on the second version. Did just enough to it to bring out the detail without overdoing it. I think the impact of the clouds on the whole picture is much better in the second version.
