WOW Tony. He is great. Lovely colours and detail. Pity he wasn’t facing you though. I guess you’re not one of his mates.

First time to see a locust, I tried to get around his front but he just ran every time. I was imagining a swarm of thousands of them as in biblical times must have been amazing. This guy must have had BO or something :D as he was alone apart from me chasing him

Smashing shot and such a rare looking critter.
Pity you could not have got a little lower as it does feel you are looking down on rather than straight on.
    Nice one

Thanks for the comment Deebo. This guy wasnt keen on staying still too long and he was quick. I see what you are saying about the lower angle could produce an imiage like something from Sci- fi or alien. Sadly it wasnt possible plus I was afraid he might bite me .

great shot really like the clarity on the colours and shades on it. macro shot makes it appear big enough to put a saddle on it :)

Superb capture. Crystal clear. What equipment did you use to get this ?

Thanks guys, appreciate the comments. I used a canon 450D in Auto macro mode F5.6 at 1/640 shutter speed. Standard 18/55 kit lens with just a normal UV filter. It just surprised me that it came out so sharp.

Absolutely great considering the lens you used.
