FintanParticipant
So what tunes are rocking your world today?
I seem to have this on repeat these days. Love it.
David Byrne & Brian Eno
Everything That Happens Will Happen Today.Liam2673ParticipantIts not a tune per se, but I always make space in my week for the radio show by Philip King, The South Wind Blows….currently on RTE Radio 1, Sunday night.
Have listened to Elbow, Seldom Seen Kid a good few times recently. Hit and miss, but the hits are good.
Also dug up one I hadn’t listened to for a while: Hank Mobley, Soul Station. Very good.
And one I have only heard on the radio, but it sounds class, and its an Irish band: Delorentos – Secret.
markst33ParticipantThe Kodo drummers from Japan. Very cool especially to see them in action. If you have not heard for them have a look on YouTube
justaguyParticipantwoke up with ABBA on the radio.
Its not going away please make it going awayBMParticipantMichael Buble – live recording in Madison Square Garden.
Just waiting for the delivery of a new (to me) recording of Rachmaninov’s Piano Concertos – Dmitry Liss (conductor), Boris Berezovsky (soloist) and the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra
jessthespringerParticipantWent to see David Kitt last friday night at the Spirit Store, best I’ve seen him so far, so I’ve been listening to a lot of him this week,
Say No More & What I Ask – on repeat on the bus on the way to work.Just downloaded, Little Apples by Eugene Donegan. Really very good.
Mumford & Sons – Sigh No More & Little Lion Man
John Martyn – I’d Rather Be the Devil (Live)randomwayMemberCafe del Mar, various brazilian techno hits, Metallica and Black Sabbath are on the playlist at the mo.
5faytheParticipantWent to see Christy Moore in Wexford Opera House last Friday with about a dozen family members.
Wexford born Declan Sinnott was fantastic on guitars.
Great venue.
They were really good and Christy was in jovial mood.
Of course had to listen to him again on the way home.I tend to fall for songs rather than get hung up on particular artists.
Andy Irvine’s song “Never tire of the road” is currently going round in my head.
Theres a couple of versions on Youtube where he also explains the song.
Another excellent musician.Colin Hay’s song “Waiting for my real life to begin” is another excellent song that I am listening to
quite a lot at the moment.
Really nice lyrics.
This is on Youtube too.
Yes he was in Men at Work.Of course, I’m always listening to whatever song my son Jonathan is writing or recording at the moment.
His bedroom is a virtual recording studio.Good listening all.
John.
