The Dark Hedges in Armoy, Antrim (updated again)

Gary McParlandParticipant
2 hr drive to get here for sunrise but i was glad i did as I was lucky to get some wonderful light and mist on sat morning. This was my first time at this location and i would find it difficult to better the conditions. Only downside was a couple of guys out shooting parked their car right in the middle, wasnt gonna argue with them as they had guns. ;)
I will upload one or two without the car once i get them processed. Thanks for looking :)
Gary
Another from earlier at sunrise when it was still quite foggy.
This was taken from the avenue looking across the fields towards what looked like a barn. The crows were flying around all over the place.
Quite noisy image though as shot it at ISO640 to freeze the birds in flight.I think this will be the last one i add. I have tons as the light stayed good for so long i couldnt leave. No cars in this one.
aoluainParticipantvery fruitful morning gary.
dont care much for the first, the light is fantastic but that car is just a sore.
anyway you said you had one without.#2 is a semi precious gem IMO love the headlights, good thinking, light isnt as good as the first though
and me mind has to be made up bout the puddle in the foreground.#3 is very beautiful, lovely colours, well captured.
RASMITH32MemberGary McParlandParticipantCheers guys :) I quite liked the car for scale and the light in the rear window with the silhouette of the driver but it seems to be getting mixed reactions. The second one was one of the first shots i took and there was lots of fog at that stage but the sun had yet to make an appearance. I was there for 2 and a half hours so i have plenty without cars.
Gary
DeeboParticipantNice set Gary.
Loving the atmosphere in the first shot, pity the car had not just entered the frame instead of leaving. check your other shots i am sure you nailed this one,
Third shot is a cracking image. I am thinking Flash Forward and I can imagine all the crows falling to the ground dead :-)
DeeKWBarbsParticipantAnother great set. I can’t make up my mind about the car in the first, but the 3rd is cracking.., great shot.
Mark NParticipantLiam2673Participantnp72ParticipantThe lighting in the first is amazing, almost looks high-definition. The shot with the birds is well taken. The headlights coming through the mist, along with the green along the side of the road are good, almost looks like a b&w otherwise, nice atmosphere to it.
PhotoSligoMemberoutstanding. For me best is 3rd.
I like composition, is making your eye contact with image all time:
From crowns as main subject your eyes are going on trees at the background to finaly sit on barn and other group of crowns and everything in nice colour and misty atmosphere.mgstParticipantBroadford1ParticipantReally love this set – if I really had to choose one it would be No.4.
Well done – definitely a set to be proud of. :D :D5faytheParticipantHi Gary,
This is a lovely set of images and they all have their charms.
OK #1 would be better without the car but as you say they had guns. :?Lovely light and lovely light isn’t really all that easy to come across and
generally dosen’t hang around too long.Forced to pick I’d have #4 but they are all nice.
Cheers.
John.
