David Hurn in conversation with Bill Jay, a highly recommended read, and one of my most well-thumbed books on photography.

David Hurn, an established Magnum photographer speaks with Bill Jay, a highly established photo editor.; the findings and observations of several decades worth of experience the result. In all, a very enjoyable book you will find difficult to avoid re-reading again and again.

Sample excerpts can be found here: http://enhanced.lenswork.com/obpenhanced.pdf and available through the lenswork website.

In fact, while there, check out the Lenswork podcasts. Have thought of subscribing to the magazine several times, and would do so in a heartbeat if it was produced closer to home.

    Enjoy,

Seconded for this book. It’s a really great read. Refreshingly distanced from the overly regurgitated technical how-to’s, it takes you insight the mind and thinking processes of a photographer, focusing on the what and the why.

Yip. Highly recommended. The reading is easy. Putting it into practice will take a lifetime.

Believe there’s a deal on Lenswork where you can buy several of the books (including On Being a Photographer) for a very low price.

Always been tempted by these, given how much I like the book of this topic – has anyone else read any of them ?
