Quiet Boozer

Liam2673Participantgrif04Participant
I think the lighting is a bit over powering in this, taking from the subject who almost falls out of the rule of thirds, the people arent very obvious in the shot, it looks like a photo of a bar rather then a “quiet boozer”
lifting the camera up to your face rather then having it sit on the table probably would of helped you compose and expose this one better. although it seems like a slow shuter, im sure you could of hand held it.
slang61ParticipantDeeboParticipantI like it.
I would probs remove the dude far left of the frame and have the single olde boy in the corner.
I like the window reflections on the ground and the table reflections
DeePippateeMemberMulligans on Poolbegs St. ?
Nice shot … a bit bright mind … if you too this inn raw theres a craking shot to be had …
I’d crop the OOF table in the foreground as well…

Liam2673ParticipantThanks for the comments lads. Its scanned in from a print, the print has rich enough colours that don’t quite come across.
I had an 8-second shutter speed, so I don’t think hand held would have worked in this instance. Maybe it would have at a quicker shutter speed, i don’t know, but I was facing a lot of sunlight. Plus since there was only the four people in the bar, I didn’t want to wake up any of my co-drinkers, it was easy to rest the camera on the table and press click.
As to where it is, none of the above. JB7 would know where it is I’m sure.
jb7ParticipantMcDaids?
Been a long time since I was in there though,
so it’s a bit of a guess-
And it’ll do my reputation no good if I’m right…Would agree about taking a cut off the bottom-
maybe even a bit more than just the table top-8 seconds?
did you stop down then?
I might have focused just a bit closer, in that case-please let me be wrong…
PixelleMemberthe single olde boy in the corner
who is of course the “quiet boozer” referred to in the title.
Liam2673ParticipantbingbongbiddleyParticipantI thought the Quiet Boozer was referring to the pub being quiet.
I like this image a lot.
The only detraction for me is the edge of the table in the foreground.
PixelleMemberI thought the Quiet Boozer was referring to the pub being quiet.
I think you’re right, mine was an alternative title. :)
Liam2673ParticipantI meant Quiet Pub, but thought the alternative interpretation was quite cool :-)
You are right, the table is a distraction, cropping it out leaves the bar stools on the right a bit too low in the image in my view…..anyways.
Thanks for comments guys, much appreciated.
