Hello all,
Name is Matt from Drogheda, only signed up recently although I have been lurking around the site for a while. My interest in photography started many moons ago with film and slides, used to do my own loading and processing. Recessions and family came along at the same time and photography went out the window, at least the experimental end of it. Have been using cameras in the mean time, all point and shoot. Last year I decided to get into digital and bought myself a CANON 450D with kit lens followed by a 70-300 is do lens which I love and has served me very well. I had always been used to 35mm so this year I bought a full frame which I absolutely love. I have never used medium or full format but would be open to any kind of photography. I cant see myself getting back into the wardrobe to unroll, cut, load and process slides again “wooley water under the bridge”. The slide film I used was 3M Ferrania I think, so long ago I find it hard to remember. Never say never again though. Thank GOD for digital. Thats me, so HI All again and I hope to get a lot out of the site and hopefully add to it over time. I love the humour in the lounge which I might say has gone sort of stale since “General Chat” was executed, so thanks to all the GENERALS of the site both north and south who try to keep it going. I probably wont post images for a while as I really dont have a clue. I would probably need somebody to actually show me. A bit of a nerd in ways, if its logical but a dummy when it comes to the Imformation Highway. Cheers,

Welcome to the site and I hope you find being a member useful and entertaining.
Posting is quite simple really and once you get the hang of it it’s a doddle.
Most members use a site like flickr to host their images.
You just paste the image’s location in to your post.There are some threads on here witrh instructions.
If you need any help just ask.Enjoy.

Hi Matt. Welcome to the site. It’s amazing how your intro is almost a mirror of my own story ie using film, home processing, recession, end of photography, back with a 450D. :lol: And of course, not being too technically minded with this posting pics etc, but if I managed I rekon anyone can do it. :lol: :lol: I hope you enjoy the site

Miki G, I had acres of colour slides which seems to have gotten turfed out in a clean
up by herself. Cant be repeated stuff thats all gone now, like the old transport bucket
system from the quarry to the old cement factory. ALL history now,Hope to get to grips with all this other stuff now like flicker accounts etc.
