  The Sally Gap. Don’t think so, too many trees.

  My guess is the approach to the Wicklow Gap from the west.

  It’s definitely not the Wicklow Gap, I have been travelling over that route twice a week for several years now so I know it pretty well.

  I’m 99% sure it’s the road that goes between the Sally Gap and Blessington and that the scattering of trees on the right is the remains of the Coronation Plantation. This is on the same road as randomway said.

  My Dad’s car broke down there in about 1975 or so, I got a LONG look at the scenery then and it’s really quite fresh in my mind ;-)

  great shot strong composition and lovely range of tones. If I was to be really fussy I would ask is it a tad soft in the foreground but with the nature of the scene I think it works fine
