My First Close-up!

Im a bit of a photography newbie, and only stopped using my SLR in favour of digital last week! So, here is my first attempt with digital. All C&C and advice welcome!

Not that I know that much but you seem to have got this spot on nice DOF, the numbers /letters are spot on whlie the name is out of focus.
Don’t think you are going to have many problems with digital. You would have got more comments had it been a flower or insect imho.Soda
Hi Matt.
A good first close-up. There are just a few little niggles (nothing major). Because the subject is highly reflective, I feel that the angle of the lighting doesn’t help as it is shining more or less towards the camera & creating unwanted (for me) highlights. This could have been intentional though as it also shows the texture quiet well. The brand name is out of focus as are the nearest buttons in the foreground. I find this distracting, but this could also have been intentional.
The shot is nicely composed & doesn’t have any distracting props, which often take away from product shots. Also the tones are good. Overall I think it’s a good shot.
