    hi all.
A friend of mine has taken shots in raw on his newly acquired Canon 50D, but Photoshop CS2 will not open the files, I also tried it on my PC using CS2 but no joy either, while CS2 will open raw files from a 20D and 5D mk1, there seems to be a problem with the 50D…. we would be grateful if any body has ideas or solutions to this problem, cheers…

    Hi fordemp,

As far as I know CS2 will not handle the RAW files from a 50D.

    Here are 2 options:
    1. Download the Adobe DNG converter, convert your 50D RAW files to DNG and work with these.
    2. Upgrade to a later version of Photoshop which will handle your 50D RAW files.

There are probably loads of other solutions like using the software that came with the camera
to convert to a format that CS2 will handle.

Hope this helps and that I am right. :?

    Cheers.

    John.

I use DNG converter and it’s fine, you just have to organise all your files! It’s free to download off the interweb AFAIK – the only thing better than perfect is free

    hi fordemp
    http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
goto to the link above and update camera raw to the lastest version.
to edit raw files use photoshop bridge and edit from there with camrea raw (right click to pull up menu)
