Hi Alan. Happy new year. The mandolin is one of my favourite musical instruments (when played well :D ). I think you’ve captured it well here with nice even lighting. I like how it looks like it’s floating mid-air and how it is isolated from the background. Not sure if the background helps though (possibly a plain one may work better). All in all, I like it. Well done

This is a very good photograph of a lovely looking instrument.
As miki g has said the mandolin makes a lovely sound in the right
hands which I suppose is true of any instrument.I suppose in one sense the background is apt in that wood is also a
feature of the subject’s construction although a more aged wood
might have been better.Nice.

the background is all I had really, i was thinking of this project for a good
while and I just decided to attack it last night.
I wanted a wooden background as it is the same material as the mandolin
a darker one might not have worked so well, anyway dont have any
Italian Walnut knocking around, had to go with the white deal! :)here is the back which has an interesting rising sun design!!
