Dr Feelgood – The Movie

This came across my desk and made my day! :D :D :D
We are delighted and proud to be able to announce an historic moment in the history of Essex and the UK’s musical heritage – a cinematic event of such proportion that James Cameron will gladly be surrendering Avatar 3D slots around the nation to accommodate it (he is even rumoured to be attending the Dungarvan screening…) – the national release of Julien Temple’s “OIL CITY CONFIDENTIAL.”
For one night only, Tuesday 2nd February, the film will be showing at selected cinemas across the British Isles, transmitted live from KOKO in Camden town with special top-and-tail live events that will help to make this such a unique occasion.
You can see the promo and list of the participating 40 cinemas (and book tickets!) at: http://www.oilcityconfidential.co.uk, and below listed are the cinemas in Ireland that will be running the event:
– Castlebar – Mayo Movie World
– Dublin – VUE Dublin
– Dundrum – MoviesDundrum
– Dungarvan – SGC
– Swords – MoviesSwordsDr. Feelgood are the unsung heroes of British rock’n’roll and are described variously as; ‘pre-punk punk,’ ‘the greatest local band in the world’ and ‘the link between the Kinks and The Sex Pistols’ – their startling brand of R&B filling the strange cultural vacuum that existed between the psychedelia of the late 60’s and the vibrant rock’n’roll scene of the 70’s. They were also one of the only English bands to tour Ireland during the Troubles…
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I thoroughly recommend not just the film, but the entire experience of live cinema. If you’ve not heard of the band, mention them to your big sister/brother or mum/dad – they sure as jellied eels will have!
Of course as luck would have it I am supposed to be in Bonn that day, but now I have good reaon to stay here – its even on in my local cinema!
Happy days,,,,, and then thees the DVD box set to look forward to. :)
