Night walk around Derry

  Went for a walk around Derry with the camera club on Wednesday night, first time out shooting in these conditions but came bag with surprising number of shots I’m happy with…. amongst others –

  

  

  

  Although I’m not overly impressed with the compression on these, definitely sharper on my originals

  I like the 1st Peter. The blue in windows and the sign came out well.

  Also there’s no lens flare in any of these compared to the ones I took on the night. You’ll have to show me how that was achieved.

  Think I’ve just answered the same question on flickr but here goes again anyway !

  I’m guessing that we have the same kit lens in the 18-70 so I can only assume, as I don’t have one fitted, that you have some sort of protective UV / Skylight filter on ?

  I probably should for protection and all that but never got around to buying one for this lens. I know there’s two schools of thought on that one.

  i – don’t put anything in front of your lens that could introduce unwanted effects
  ii – don’t risk breaking / scratching your front element by sticking a filter on the front….
