Like this one, what time of the day was it taken at?

very interesting…i’m in 2 minds about it.

i love the horizontal banding of the tones and shades (dark sky, light sky, dark foreground) – very striking.

i think there are elements that add an artificial feel to the image, such as the smoke from the left tower, and the buildings to the right of the base of the towers. IMO, i think they distract from the image.

    is it HDR?

yes I agree, the smoke from the tower looks artificial, and it seemed to me artificial when I shot the pic, see the original pic below (no Lighroom).

Then I enhanced the effect with Lightroom because I wanted to give importance to it. Probably, it would have been better to have fog/smoke covering the base of the towers…
Regarding HDR.. ehm… thanks for giving the opportunity to learn something new
The answer is I don’t know… or at least, if I did it, it wasn’t intentional, I’m new to post production and my experience is limited to two online tutorials adobe videos on Youtube.. :D

from the original image, i think you did a good job of bringing up the shadows. both the original and the post-processed are impressive – great athmosphere.
