Brought my camera with me while on a training course recently, these are a few I took of Caldicot Castle in Monmouthshire, Wales.
Unfortunately the castle does not open to visitors until April so these are taken on the outside perimeter.
The castle entrance in early morning light.
The castle viewed from across the country park.
One of the towers that form part of the castle viewed through the trees.
Has to be said there is something so right about ancient castles in the landscape (yes they are weapons of war etc) but what the hell they are cool.
I have not been to caldicot but if you ever go to Carreg Cennen bring a torch and explore the underground tunnel/cave that goes down along a cliff totaly brill but it is a bit remote if I remember right it must be nearly 20 years since I have been there.
Your third shot is the pick – well framed and exposed. The first too are not up there with it. The first is too close, loosing context. The second is too dominated by the sky and the buildings are lost.
