I had cause to meet a few PI’ers in Dublin during the week and brought the Holga for the craic. I was on my way to the meeting point when I was walking around Stephens Green when I spotted the situation below. An interesting viewpoint, a contrasting background and a bit of wildlife for dynamics. I got up the camera…focus was right and shot the image…marvellous, and I hadn’t been spotted either so carried on my way knowing I had something worth waiting for.

I hoped it would turn out right…and it did. But who’s stupid idea was it to put straps on a Holga?? Damn and blast and many other expletives too. Once I have the current film out of the camera the back clasps come off and I’ll be doing a Martin pimp job on it.

don’t kick yourself too hard, that guy and a few of his friends are at that statue most day’s at lunch time, have had the chance to shoot them a few times, one of his friends is a polish courier who carries a Zorki the odd time, he let me shoot a roll through it once in exchange for a go of my crown graphic. you might have to bring your own pigeons along next time as I can’t vouch for there whereabouts of a lunch time :)

Like this one Alan, I dont mind the camera strap, think the pictures works very well anyhow. The movement of the birds really makes the shot for me and would be hard to recreate without the strap. Its a good one id be well happy with it

I actually thought the strap at first was a tree branch or something which gave the shot kind of a voyeuristic look to it!

Excellent…that’s what it was…eh, it was on purpose!! :D I suppose if you were to state that this is what it was it might pass off as plausible though.
    Thanks for the comment.
