Epson® Stylus Photo R1900

Hi there, does anyone have this printer or have any experience/opinions on it. I am thinking about buying an A3 printer but I am constricted by budget. I would be printing as many B&W as colour so its important that the printer can produce great results in both mediums.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

If you’re constricted by budget, have a look at the 1400 also. It’s not pigment, but the OEM claria are good stable inks for good longevity. I sold mine recently in favour of and R2880, but was very happy with the 1400 while I had it. Might not be the best for B&W printing, as it’s only a 6 colour printer. I tended to get the odd magenta cast on my mono’s, but the colour photos were superb.

I found this website very useful in terms of information on the printers. Really thoroughly reviews on most of the machines out there: Epson, HP, Canon. It all depends on your budget. For instance, Harvey Norman shop in Carrickmines has a R1900 priced at €599. I know it’s not the cheapest there is, probably the internet would have it cheaper, but at least I had the chance to check this animal in person. It is quite big. The only downsides are small cartridges and head endless cleaning sessions for the same small cartridges.
