We were in Mount Usher Gardens in Ashford, Co. Wicklow last weekend. It was just a couple of weeks early for the full spring flowers effect but I managed to get this shot of a small weir on the Vartry River that runs through the gardens.
The only thing is that I would suggest is a closer crop as I find the rocks in the background distracting. They are in the frame but don’t really add something to the composition IMO…
The intention of the crop was to put in some sort of boundary at the top of the frame. I tried it with just the stream in it but I had to crop quite low to exclude the reflections. And I thought it looked a bit boring.
Anyway, here is the uncropped image. I’d love any suggestions as to how to make the best of it.
