Moment of peace amongst a busy crowdWould a tighter crop be better on this one? I’m not sure if the moving crowd around them adds or takes away from the picture.

An encounter with a soapy character obviously left a smile on her face that I liked. The replies I have received previously on my other posts has given me a good deal of encouragement and advice on how to improve, so any critiques are very welcome. Thanks in advance for looking!
MartinOCParticipant#1 is nice but I don’t really like the toning. I think it would be better b&w, or a more subdued sepia, colour doesn’t come across as old-style toning.
# 2 is well caught and composed, but could do with flash some flash fill for his face. The fact that his face is obscured takes a lot away from the shot.
One of the biggest problems I find with street photography at night without a flash, is that the background is general brighter than peoples faces.
#3, did you change the photo?, I thought it was colour the first time I looked. I did like the eye-catching colours on the bubble (if I remember correctly). Unfortunately her eyes are closed, and her face is a little dark, otherwise nice shot.
I hope that helps,
Martin
The ChairmanMemberFor #3, I actually did change the photo, I thought the colour might be too distracting due to the background, but I must have guessed wrong as I often do :) I have the colour version here:
#2 will definitely try to use more flash, have a speedlight coming to me soon, going to try to learn about it.
Will try a more subdued sepia on #2, this was a direct preset in DXO Optics, so I’ll try to modify it in another editor.
Thanks for commenting and the advice!
