Two very nice shots connie, number two had great potential with the water droplet but who cropped it a bit tight. Also in number two you need to watch your backgrounds as the swan in the background is kind of distracting.

Number 2 was not cropped just bad composition on my part, took another with droplet in the frame but focus was not good. So that one was the better one of the bunch. Still trying to master manual focus along with all the other stuff. I don’t want to have an expensive compact so to speak :)
I get a little over enthusiastic when I see something I really like, so I need to teach myself to relax and take it all in the viewfinder before taking the pic lol Downside is I like taking pics of animals the most and they never do what you want them to hehhe
#1 is the better of the two, nicely framed, gives the impression that he is looking sideways at you. Pity about the tight crop in#2. Swans always lend themselves more to profile shots as opposed to face on. Have fun with your new 500D and keep at it…………/Mikka
