Hi – i can’t think that any study would be a waste of time. Maybe don’t pay for one just yet – as there are so many free resources available – including this site.

Here’s a free one i just signed up for.

    http://www.photoanswers.co.uk/DSLR-Skills-2010/Sign-up-for-Practical-Photographys-FREE-DSLR-Skills-Course-today/

another site packed full of tutorials and techniques is http://www.photoradar.com/

Perhaps invest in the magazine “Practical Photography” everymonth and do all the experiments and tutorials. There are quite a few magazines – but i think this one is best.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Kanazawa,

There are a lot of great free resources online. This forum is very good for feedback and suggestions on how to improve your work if you post it. Meet ups are great to meet and learn from other photographers. You can also find good tutorials/videos on lighting, techniques, equipment, editing etc. on youtube.com, photo.net, strobist.com and flickr groups are good for inspiring projects like ‘photo 365’ (to take at least one photo every day for a year and post them on flickr for feedback and comments). A good start is your local library also.

    Good luck and enjoy,
    Dee
