This is a shot I took back in January, taken looking back up the river Blackwater from Villerstown.

That’s a very nice shot, I could be wrong but I would guess that’s Knockmealdown mountain in the background. The image looks over saturated and could do with being toned down but that’s only a personal opinion. It’s a pity the tide was out as a nice reflection would have really added to the image.

I’d agree with everything Seaview said…

I suppose that trying a print would sort out the degree of saturation needed-
but even the white bits look red-

It’s not far off, however, and you had good light for it-
    I like it-

Thanks for the comments, your right Dave it is the Knockmealdowns. It was a pity the tide was out but the light was wonderful that evening.
Here’s a copy with some of the saturation taken out.

    Hi Austin,

This is a very nice photograph and well observed.

I too think the 2nd version is better.

It looks like a nice location that would deserve repeated visits.

    Well done.

Thanks again for your comments I think the second shot is better myself. It’s a lovely location with a small pier which gives you the angle to look back up the river, I intend to take the same shot throughout the year as the seasons change and compare them.Must check the tide tables though it’d be nice to have the tide in.
    Regards,
    Austin.
